Owner Chris Daum has been in the renewable energy
business for 21 years and started her own Oasis Montana
business in 1998 so that she could provide better customer
service on the products that she sells. Chris lives with the
products she sells. Her Stevensville office is powered by an
eight module solar array (MSX 60's formerly by Solarex) and a
Sprite NPP 450 wind generator, with about 1250 amphours of
battery storage
using Rolls-Surrette CH375s, 6V batteries (similar to L16s), and a 2500W
Trace
(Xantrex) Power Series 2524 sine wave power inverter which she designed and
installed herself. This solar electric system also powers her
energy efficient
ConServ refrigerator by Vestfrost. She cooks
on a Peerless Premier SFK349W 30", 5 burner propane stove.
 Our
Systems Designers include: Mark Dickson
who has worked with renewable energy
for over 5 years. Mark's fascination with renewables began while
managing an off-grid retreat center on the Big Island of Hawaii,
which utilized both hydro and solar technologies. More recently, he
worked as a ranch manager, in charge of maintaining and upgrading
one of the largest residential solar installations in Montana. Mark
has since obtained his NABCEP™
installer certification and LEED
AP.
Brad Stevens
lives in his off-grid self-built straw bale house, utilizing PV and
supplementing with a generator as needed in the dark days of winter.
He helps Mark with local installations and is NABCEP™
certified.
Brad presently has six Sharp 165 watt solar modules on his home
(with a Magnum inverter and Grundfos pump), with plans to expand in
the future.
Larry Keogh,
trained on military generators in 1971 and “fooling around” with PV
since the mid 1980’s, Larry obtained an AAS in Energy Technology
from the University of Montana, College of Technology in May of
2010. Formally educated in solar, wind, wave, tidal, coal, hydro,
geothermal, other energies and storage, and coupled with decades of
life experience in electrical work, and being a long term an “energy
conservation nut”, Larry has the tools and experience to help you
gain the edge on sustainable energy for your home or business power
project.
