Inverters change the DC power from your batteries to
high voltage AC power as needed. Most inverters produce 120VAC; for
240VAC loads, the larger units can be "stacked", or a
transformer may be used to change the 120 to 240VAC.
To size what inverter best suits your needs, you
need to ascertain what your total peak loads are, and also factor in
any starting surge that must be covered.
TRACE UX SERIES — the best choice for 12V systems
of 600 to 1400 watts when efficiency, modest power needs and
economical considerations are of prime importance. Two year warranty
on all Trace goods.
TRACE DR SERIES —
includes built-in battery charger with adjustable charge rate, low
idle current, high surge capacity, quiet operation. Modified sinewave,
powers hand tools, lights, microwaves, computers, refrigerators, with
easy to understand LEDs. Stackable for 240V output, designed for years
of service.
TRACE SINEWAVE SERIES —
the "workhorse" standard of the industry!! Delivers pure
sinewave power without compromise and with high efficiency, high surge
capacity and low idle current draw. Offers easy to use programming
system with separate "user" and "set up" menus.
Soft start systems allow inverter to run heavy loads with improved
reliability. Includes built-in, adjustable three stage battery
charger; can integrate with the grid or your generator (offers gen-start
feature).
The Trace DR and Sinewave Series are available as
part of a pre-wired and pre-assembled Power Panel Center—providing
the necessary componentry outside of the solar modules, generator, and
battery bank. The PPCs increase system reliability and make
installation greatly simplified; UL approved, with lead times down to
2 to 3 weeks. The features include heavy duty Heinemann Disconnect,
everything mounted on a powder coated steel backplate; includes
inverter output breaker (60A). A variety of options are available;
